Taste is a sweet corny flavor mixed with ripe vegetables. Strangely it’s the perfect beer right now...but it is still not good. zebracakes (1217), Washington DC, USA

Because it’s cheap and will get you nicely buzzed. Somehow in the darkness of that dive bar, 9 just seems to make sense.
The beer tastes malty and the alcohol is not well blended. I wouldn’t drink this beer outside of Gooski’s.

Pours a clear golden with a medium white head and a sharp alcoholic smell. The taste is a mix of sweet malt and strong alcohol, almost unpleasant to drink. I didn’t really like it Silphium (2160), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Jan 1, 2008 Big 51 oz brown plastic bottle to rein in the new year. Creamed corn, vegetal, with apple juice notes. Rough and husky. A beer that means business, knowing that business is dirty. douglas88 (1678), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 19, 2007 .5 Liter bottle. Pours like the typical lager; a light golden with a frothy head. The taste is a crisp sweet malt and a fruity, clean quality. The finish is mostly dry and clean. It seems that this beer is hit and miss, and I got lucky. I enjoyed this beer- it is a lager, but its at least a strong one. I have a friend in Uzbekistan who said that Baltika was usually much worse. Overall, a good lager. Nose of sweet corn and malty booze. Sweet, creamy, sharp mouth feel. No bitter hoppiness. Finished cloying and skunky.
