| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Apr 19, 2006 Bottle. Far too malty (burnt), no head, and a crap hoppy finish. Rus is not known for her master breweries... just her wodka! kumite56 (461), Cordova, Tennessee, USA

| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 15/20 | Apr 15, 2006 A pale lager of medium weight nectar. Pours little froth with residual effers. Flavors are typical to lagers yet not as malty as other malt liquors. There were a few definable characteristics that set it apart from other malt liquors. I detected a clove essense along with a fruity, not so sweet candy finish. Not as sweet as I anticipated. For the high alcohol rating I that it was pretty well hidden. No skunky flavors or aroma. Overall: well ballanced and decent. A little more complex than other in this genre. kwoeltje (1331), Manchester, Missouri, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/20 | Apr 10, 2006 (bottle) Pale yellow with very little head. Alcohol aroma. Alcohol flavor with a little malt and hops. I felt like I should be drinking it out of a paper-bag wrapped bottle. dkoonce (899), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 8, 2006 Light and clear with a good head and heavy malt aroma. No real hint of the alcohol in the aroma. The flavor is a bit off, likely stored warm for some time. (best by 5/31/06) Overall, not as bad as I expected given the price and alcohol level on the label. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 26, 2006 From a 1pt. 9oz. brown bottle with a best before on the front label, 31/05/06. Made an impressive appearance, poured an clear pale straw golden with a foamy, billowing white head that slowly settle into a clingy, foamy, thin pancake-like lacing, good carbonation. Had a grainy alcohol nose with some floral hoppiness and some faint grassiness. A crisp, biting coarse mouth feel, above average drinkability. Lager husky grainy and lemon grass hoppy taste with a little floral hoppiness, a mild bitterness, some alcohol warmth on the tongue and a crisp, sweet grainy malty finish.
I admit, I like the lagers I’ve had from Baltika, they are not world beaters, but they are decent, affordable lagers, well worth trying.
