Medium and alcoholic scent; sugar and malt notes. Determined and sweetish taste; decidedly alcoholic. Overbalance but not to despise. dwyerpg (2553), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 25, 2005 Smells like champagne, with pears! Initial taste is devoid,like a bad beer, but then the flavoring kicks in. The alcohol gives it a faint wine/barleywine taste. Overall, though, it can’t escape being a malt liqour...high alcohol with little complexity. SledgeJr (3004), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Standard yellow in color with a fizzy white head that is poofy only a short time. At first, the aroma seemed slightly skunked, but this aroma gives way to a malty perfume-like aroma. Flavor is a strong alcoholic maltiness, but it has a tempered sweetness and a suggestion of some hop balance. Kak dela tovarich? muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 22, 2005 500 ml bottle. Dense opaque bubbles eventually give way to a pale slightly oily gold with a huge whie lasting head and fair lacing...sweet, grainy, lightly alcoholic nose becomes quite boozy as it warms...very sweet, cheap liquor-ish body, bubblegum faintly present, full and somewhat oily, metallic and very alcoholic at the finish. brentfeesh (1041), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Mar 21, 2005 What did I do to my local beer store to make them suggest this to me? They were under the false understanding that it was a pale ale; and consequently, so was I. So I bought 4…Who needs to trade for a malt liquor fest!...anyone...anyone...The price should have been the give away. Anyhow. Malt liquor here I come! Pours a very clear pale gold or onion color. Nice thin white head with good-looking carbonation. The aroma is sweet malt and corn (don’t know what “horse blanket” smells like but ChrisPants sure thinks this is it). The flavor is sweet malt with corn hints. If I stretch I might also say bubblegum or cotton candy. In my initial rating I as I was drinking I noted, “This is an awful lot like a malt liquor”. Well what do you know…Finally; I did not think this was the worse malt liquor I’ve ever had. And it was my first Russia brew. Bigsky66 (148), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA

Pretty much par for the course on this type. Overall has some sweet malt flavor just should come in a forty. ChrisPants (317), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 4, 2005 The ugliest beer. Handcrafted by Petrogradians to "git ’er done." Pours cheap watery straw, aroma of wet horseblanket. Flavor of wet horseblanket. View further comments on www.wethorseblanket.com. Finishes predictably malty with a fuzz on your teeth. Not just my teeth-this will lieave fuzz on YOUR teeth for even reading this review.
