Commercial Description:
Cask; Status uncertain.
A replica of a traditional style once known as Milk Stout. A dark beer sweetened with lactose as per the original. Not as roasted as modern stouts. Produced primarily for the Tally-Ho at Barkway, North Herts, but now available elsewhere as well in limited volumes.

Cask Conditioned at The Tally Ho, Barkway. Black beer with a bubbly malty head. Confused, this is a Buntingford Brewery beer, which is currently being relocated. While a new Brewery is being set up the beer is being brewed by Belvoir under the name of Banfield Ales, Steve Banfield has rated some beers on this site. This is a light, sweet mild ale with litle bite. Heavily sweetened, I note by lactose so presumably more of a milk stout. The Tally Ho was a devil to find, with some interesting locals who are keen to give strangers misleading directions. Don't go on a dark stormy night.
