Herbal (somewhat Germanic) hop, conifer, sultana, forest fruits (Octo reckons Starburst), fresh bread, clinging yeast and malt. Faint vanilla, nuts and hay. So alive and packed with subtle flavours beside the Old Thumper. Surprising. Magicdave6 (5513), London, Greater London, England

Taste has small sulphur hints, smiliar to amroma, honestly vulgary adultaraded to a new level to me by the bloody spakler with a nitro hear thrpoughout. of which would have been a decent beer. Lighter in colour, sweeter and less hoppy than Banks’s Original - but otherwise pretty much the same. It has a pleasant enough tang, but is otherwise fairly ordinary. The Original has a touch more character. [2.9] jammin7jg (139), Withington, Manchester, England

Overall the beer was quite mediocre and nothing too special. An alright bitter but not exciting enough for my tastes.
