Pours a frothy, white head with a reddish body. Nose is of a tinny maltedness. Flavour is a skim milk and caramel malt with a mild bitterness in the finish. Average. 3daddict (139), Portland, Maine, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Aug 7, 2005 Medium brown pour with quickly vanishing head. Nice malt aroma with sweet scents and a light spice. Watery mouthfeel but good malt taste. Very smooth and not bitter. Finish gives an ever so slight cocoa flavor. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 8, 2005 On tap @ Lowell Brewing Co: Well I think. The beer was listed as B.H.A. so I hope this is it. Mass is pretty close to Maine, and the percentile is about accurate in my opinion. Anyway this wasn’t anything special at all. Tastes almost metallic or sour in a bad way. Something didn’t feel right when it was in my mouth. If I could compare this to anything it would be a bad Pilsner Urquell... although my memory on that beer is foggy since I haven’t had it in about a year... jimhilt (1688), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 9, 2005 Pours a two-finger cream head that stays leaving some lace. Nice deep amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Slight malty/bready nose. Start with some sweetness, finishes clean and mellow. Even though the ABV is very low (3.2%) this ale has good flavor. A lot of chunky bits in the bottom of the glass. $3.99 for a 22oz bottle from Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, Me. Nuffield (2724), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 28, 2004 Brown-red with white head. Not sure about its status as a mild--at least compared to English milds. Simple structure, a bit metallic (may not be the brewer’s fault, as a friend confessed to less-than-perfect storage in his refrigerator). An idea of fruit seems to want to emerge. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 25, 2004 Bottle. Brown color with minimal head. A mild to no flavor beer with a sligh metalic element. Subtle at best. Christmas Party 2004 ranked 14/15 (mine) and 14/15 (group). atpayne (615), Zionsville, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 27, 2004 Browinsh amber with a tan head. The aroma is malty, smells sweet and spicy as well fruity and a bit roasted. The flavor is full of maltyness, and some hints of dark fruits. A setteling bitterness late leaves it clean and full in the mouth. It’s an average beer, nothing that stands out good or bad.
