I used to think I hated fruit beers, but now that i’ve had some good ones I really think that if they’re done well I like them. This peach is much better than it’s rating would lead me to believe. The sweet malty lighthouse ale base is perfect for adding the peach flavor to this brew. Delicious. I’m wondering if these other raters got the wrong brew!?

Pours deep brown into a shaker. Fluffy off-white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Peach puree aromas. Peach pits upfront and malty with a mile peach finish.

Pour dark brown with small, tight, longlasting head. Smells nice of light peach and sweet malt. Flavor is much lighter with the peach being mostly covered by the malt-as it warms, a much rounder and sweeter flavor profile comes out as the peach works in as a nice background for the malts. Overall, its good but could use more backbone

Bottle: Clear orange with a thin white head, sweet peaches in the aroma, medium bodied with light carbonation, starts and ends sweet with a lingering peach taste.

Pours a two-fingered white head leaving no lace, nice deep amber color. Strong carbonation, light bodied and sweet peach nose. Starts and finishes with a strong peach flavor but otherwise not much malt or hops. Would make a good summer beer. $3.99 for a 22oz bottle from Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, Me.

Light reddish brown color with ready head. Malt, hop and peach tone in aroma. Peach nut flavor. Tastes more like sucking on a peach pit than an overwelling fruitiness and very good at that. Bar harbor has made some of the first fruit beers that I’ve tried that are worth drinking.

22oz bottle, purchased at the brewery. Labelled "Brew 009". Poured murky dark amber, capped with a moderate sized tan head. Real peach aroma, along with some yeast and grain. Flavor of peach syrup, along with wheat and mild hops. Not as sweet or syrupy as many other fruit beers. A bit thin bodied. Long peachy finish. Not a bad summertime beer.

Bottled (bomber). Nice-looking brew, with large creamy off-white head atop a dark brown/amber nearly opaque body; looks more like a brown ale than the typical light American fruit beer. Nose lightly peachy and hoppy; could be stronger. Flavor is a bit brown-ale like also, much maltier and darker than the typical raspberry-wheat type that we’ve grown to love/hate. Peachiness again understated; body is as stated creamy into the finish; hops fairly muted. Definitely better than the first Bar Harbor brew I had, but this one seems a might stale also. Could just be something in the house style I don’t like. Better than average summery fruit beer though; great for a 95 degree day like today!
