Clear brown body with a beige head. Malty aroma with a light nuttiness, light caramel, and some grain. Medium sweet malt flavor with a little caramel, lightly earthy, and faint nut. Aftertaste is sweet malt and a bit of roast malt.

Thanks to mkgrenwel for the bomber. Clear brown with a large head. Aroma of grains and caramel with a bit of dust. Flavor was a little thin; caramel, some chocolate, grains and nuts. Fairly good taste, but the texture is just too thin.

Tried this one a couple of times - most recently was a 4 month old bottle that had been kept in a dark fridge - surprisingly oxydated. Sweet bready malts, slight nuttiness, hops both times had a metal taste to them. Maybe the bottles just don’t hold up well.

Bottle. Chocolate malt aroma with light metallic hint. Dark reddish brown color with moderate head. Chocolate and brown sugar malt flavor with moderate hops finish. Very nice flavor. An overall nice tasting beer.

Small tan head on a dark brown ale .... just like the name promises. Not a complex style, and not a complex beer. A little dark malt, a little sweet toffee, a little bitter chocolate or espresso ... not really intense enough to be sure which. Thin in the mouth. Hint of nuts in the finish. No hops to speak of. Certainly not a world beater ... but probably better than mass market Newkie Brown.
