Clear brown color with a thick white head. Aroma of nuts abd malt. Very good flavor of malt, nuts and caramel. Light and oily palate, low carbonation. I’m not fond of brown ale but this one is very well done.

If I were to say this was a typical brown ale, I’d only be a half truth. Aromas of nuts and yogurt dominate this one, but some hoppy undertones are definitely present. Taste is the same, but with a nice bitter finish.

(Draught) Sampled on tap at the Great Lost Bear in Portland, ME. Pours a thin, foamy almond head with deep amber body. Nose of caramel malt. Flavour is of smooth caramel malt. Above average.

(22 oz bottle) Wow, beautiful creamy biscuit head sits on medium dark honey brown body. Nice lacing. Aroma of caramel, malt, hops. Beautiful mellow toasted caramel flavor right from the start. No bitterness, no bite, just smooth. A bit watery but love the taste! Oooh yeah, another great brown ale from Maine. Really nice!

Medium brown pour with tan head. Toasted malt and brown sugar aroma carries through to the taste and is remarkably smooth. Nothing revolutionary but still an excellent brew.

Pours a reddish-brown with a thick brown head. No lace. Spicy and nutty aromas. Lightly sweet. Very fizzy. Nutty and lightly sweet followed by bitter finish. Some smoky flavors as well. Nice balanced hops in the finish. Lightly bitter hoppy aftertaste and a bit nutty. Smooth. Very good brown ale.

Brew # 01546... Poured a bright red and brown color with a medium sized off white head and some light lacing on the glass. Swweet caramel malts and citrus fruits in the aroma. Taste was rather weak, roast, nuts, more caramel and some hops as well. Medium carbonation, but thats about it.
