Bar Harbor True Blue Blueberry Ale

amber color beer, perhaps tinted a bit reddish-orange but lightly carbonated and a small white head. aroma of crushed blueberry skins and pale malt, with some fading hops and slight oxidation. thin and tinny, with not enough blueberry to make it a good gimmick beer, and too much blueberry to make it something i would want to drink normally. potable at least.

Bottle->shaker: Pours a thin off-wihte head onto an amber body. No lacing, heavy blueberry aroma and not much carbonation. Taste is clean, yet nondescript and finishes somewhat astringent. Not very much body or taste given the wonderful aroma. Not a bad beverage, but doesn’t really prove to be much beyond its aroma.

Bottle. This was a gusher - lost half of the bottle on the kitchen counter. What’s left is amber with only spotty foam for a head. Aroma is fruity but not discernible as blueberry. Smells more like and artificial fruit flavoring in a kids cereal. Taste is slightly tart and fruity with soft grains and hops. Rather bland with some tart fruitiness being the bulk of the flavor. Body is light-medium and still decently carbonated. Ends with more tart fruit flavors, some hops and grains.

Not a bad beer, given that a blueberry beer doesn’t sound particularly appetizing. While blueberries didn’t seem to stand out in either the flavor or the aroma, the general experience was decent. Surprisingly good.

I haven’t had many blueberry beers. This one was about what I’d expect. Pretty decent. Good flavors throughout....but a little light for my palete.

I don’t know. Definitely not the best of the Blueberrys I’ve had. Don’t really smell the berry. Odd smell...maybe of citrus, lemon. Not strong on blueberry taste. Ok on flavor. Could be better. Very light copper color. Very clear.

Bottle. Aroma of slightly dry grainy malt, and some blueberries. The flavor was similar and actually good for this style. The blueberries tasted real and fresh, but didn’t overpower the beer.

Aroma is nice and smells like blueberry cobbler. Amber hue. Flavor is sweet and blueberry with an odd finish. Palate is light and watery. I really hate fruit beer but I kind of liked this one. A nice one for the wife maybe.
