dirtymike (2019), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA May 20, 2007 Light copper in color with a small off-white head. Aroma of blueberry and slight malt sweetness. Solid fruit beer, better than most just nothing exceptional in my opinion.
kkearn (652), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 21, 2008 22oz bottle, purchased at the brewery. Labeled "brew #002". Pours brown-amber, capped with a minimal tan head. Aroma of caramel malt; blueberry is present in the nose but its not very intense. Flavor of caramel malt, real blueberry, black pepper, and some spice. There’s a little bitterness in the background as well. Long, mildly hoppy finish, with blueberry providing a little tartness. Very drinkable. urnamesucks (92), New York City, New York, USA Aug 20, 2008 Vacationing in Bar Harbor. Tastes like beer where other Berry beers taste like syrup. Not an everyday kind of a beer. thornecb (1068), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Aug 10, 2008 Pours deep brown into a Tumbler. Skimpy root beer bubble pour. Malty blueberry aromas. Sweet, carbonated blueberry upfront, with a sharpening dry finish. Not bad. shigadeyo (1370), Southwest Ohio Area, Ohio, USA Aug 9, 2008 8/09/2008: Well, True Blue definitely smells fruity and floral like freshly picked blueberries. It is amber in color, clear, and has a foamy beige had that collapses quickly but the rapid level of carbonation manages to sustain a thin ring of bubbles around the edges. The blueberry is quite subtle in the flavor at first but comes back through the finish and lingers delicately on the palate. Most of the flavor is consumed by a pretty good caramel maltiness that is toasty and somewhat sweet. In a way the whole thing kind of tastes like blueberry pancakes with a small splash of syrup on top! This beer is nearly medium-bodied and clean on the palate. Overall this is a nicely-crafteed blueberry ale that has a good malty base beer and a complementary level of natural blueberry fruit and accompanying floral qualities. My wife gave this beer a rating of 3.2... I agree!

esjaygee (733), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jun 2, 2008 Amber with quickly diminishing tan head. Aroma of blueberries, semi-candied and caramel. Malted body with an apple juice feel. Taste of mild berry with a bad bitter finish. So-so.
