Fukito (600), Buenos Aires, Argentina Mar 5, 2008 Thanks Gazza!, bottle, november 07. Very dark but clear brownish copper color with some burgundy notes and a disappearing medium beige head. Some dark suga, slightly roasted flavor but rather bland. Medium to light mouthfeel, light and drinkable. Molasses aroma with some toasted notes. A bit artifficial. A bit bland and boring dark ale. davidpl (410), Santiago, Chile Sep 2, 2007 Appearance: very dark brown color. Medium head, dark beige color, some dense and persistent. Good adherence at glass.
Aroma: toasty, oat (ingredient?), sweety-liquory like truffle, sweet chocolate, some coffee and fruitiness of berries and figs. Not hoppy smells. Reminiscences of liquor’s chocolate
Flavor: sweet and toasty malty, high roast grains, truffles, coffee, handcrafted chocolate, oat (ingredient?); fruitiness of berries, figs and black olives. Dry-toasty finish with long persistency, not hoppy considerably. Coffee and smoked aftertaste. Reminiscences of Syrah.
Palate: light for the style, silky texture. Low carbonation.
Nice, fresh toasty sensation and balanced; but light body and not very complex.
Lubiere (3408), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jun 9, 2006 Deep black ale with a moka head, rich and creamy. Caramel and chocolate aroma, again, nice and vinous. Nice sweet chocolate in mouth, with nutty notes, and licorice. Light metallic notes. Medium bodied. Bought at Alas Supermercado, Calafate, for 4.5$AR.
