(Bottle 33 cl) Very dark golden, slightly hazy with a fine, creamy head. Lovely spicy nose. Sweetish, perhaps a bit sticky, presumably with added honey like in the original "Barbar". A pronounced bitterness manages to contain and balance the sweetness. Close enough to a German Bock, although this is top-fermented. 030200

33 cl bottle, bbe Jan 2007. Dark chestnut colour with a deep dark red shine, big frothy beige head (very big bubbles) that stays on for ages. Sweetish (honey, cinnamon bread) and spicy (mint, even traces of mustard oils) aroma. Sweet(ish) round taste with presence of honey, juicy fruitiness, a touch of pepper and a rubber-like flavour in the aftertaste, which begins sweetish and finishes bitter. Solid, rich, creamy texture, good density; a bit soapy feeling, though. Good but somewhat incoherent.

re-rate - bottle aged 3 years Flavor really settles down, integrates and harmonizes, forming something reallly fantastic and complex. Aroma gets out of your face and becomes far more seductive. MMM good. Buy it new, try it old.

The funky honey wildness overpowers my palate with a sharp tang... too-sticky an aftertaste. Sweet malts swirl under the honey top notes. Not bad but not a dream beer for me. Kind of spicy, moderate body. Dark colour, soda-like carbonation feels rough against the flavor. 6/4/7/3/11 = 3.1

Dark ruby brown. Sweet amlty aroma of honey, cookies and toffee. Sweet and a bit slick flavour of honey, candied nuts and toffee. Nuts and honey in the sweet long aftertaste.

Nose of sweet figs and dark syrup. Dark brown body, with a small tan head. Sweet flavor, but with an edge of acidity. Decent.

Dark brown beer with an off-white head. Sweet and slightly bitter, full beer. Has a quickly dissapearing, bitter finish with an alcohol kick. Never quite spottet the honey... But maybe that´s a good thing?

Creamy and dense foam, optimal persistence. Black glossy color; impenetrable and full bodied. Smoked and cold cuts scent, much flowery and complex. Strong and full bodied taste, much persistent and long-lasting one. Chocolate malty.
