Took a chance on a mystery bottle from Tanakaya and this one turned out to be quite good. I always love a good Bock and Barbar’s Winter Bock not only has a great traditional Bock taste, but a suitable high ABV as well. Taste was smooth, crisp, gummy, syrupy and slightly dry. Hints of raspberries, dried fruits, blackberry wine, and smoked peaches were all prevalent and welcome in the territory between my cheeks...the cheeks on my face, that is.

On tap at Flying Saucer. Has a dark brown with a medium frothy light tan head that lasts awhile leaving behind good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is sweet fruit malt with raisin and honey. The taste is a sweet malt with licorice and raisin. Easy to drink hides the alcohol well, a very good dunkler bock from Barbar.

Deep brown colour, thin lacy head. Sweet, floral aroma. Plenty of honey sweetness, toffee and warming alcohol. Quite a thick, sticky mouthfeel.

Poured from the 25cl bottle into a wine glass. Dark, opaque color. Brown head. Full body. Robust aroma that really kicks the initial experience. A spicey honey flavor. A bit on the sweet side. Slight anise note. Doesn’t finish as strong as it starts, but it doesn’t let off either.

Draft at Max’s 72 Hours of Belgium. Nice deep cloudy brown pour with a light off white head. Light toffee aroma. Slightly spicy body with hints of licorice and brown sugar. A bit of honey in the background. Nice beer. Went nicely with the Blackforest Ham for lunch.

Wonderfull smell. Very dark brown, almost black with a nice thick tan foam. A very strong taste, and very sweet with honey taste and hints of caramel. This beer is maybe a little too sweet but still a wonderfull beer.
