Ober (190), Best, Netherlands Apr 22, 2008 A clear dark brown colored beer, with a huge dark beige foamy head. This head doesn’t stays for long. It leaves a lacework on the inside of the glass. The aroma has a lot of fruits like raisins. Also corriander and some honey. In the taste there is the sweetness of the honey, also cherries. There is some malt. In the back there herbs. It’s a nice warm, beer for the winter.
weaselkenievil (272), Cheshire, England Jul 5, 2008 I thought Barbar original was quite good for a honey beer but felt a little let down by this. A little like a cadburys fruit and nut without the chocolate. Not a bad beer but had better too much for this to be high on my list. blipp (567), Grand Island, New York, USA Jun 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours deep ruby with a fizzy beige head. Aroma is apple, cinnimon, caramel, and light citrus. Medium body. Spicy flavor, with a touch of fruity sweetness. Pretty good. Ibrew2or3 (1571), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Jun 8, 2008 Courtesy of CigarCityBrew. Pours clear brown-ish amber with big bubbled tan head. The aroma is musty dark fruitiness of plums, raisins and hard candy cherries as well as sugar sweetness. The taste is much the same creating a mirror image of the nose (huh?) with prunes, dates, figs, sweet ripe plums, raisins and some rip cherries to go along with faint dark roasted malts. ansermadide (138), Kyle, Texas, USA Jun 7, 2008 Updated: Jun 9, 2008(June 2008 Beer Club Meeting - Sacrifice) Super cloudy brown amber color with an off-white head. Smell is grainy/light hoppy. Taste is... what the heck is this? Light malt. Spicy... definitely Belgian! Well done. blutt59 (478), Dallas, Texas, USA May 31, 2008 bottle, very chimay with nice tan head and dark fruit nose, soft effervescence and smooth flavors of apricot, figs and orange, excellent beer
