Again like all in this sampler the aroma is hard as heck to pick up. Some caramel malt and maybe some cascade hops, but it’s hard to tell which type. Color is amber..a very dark pretty amber with a pinky thin, but firm head. Cool it tastes like the Stock Ale in the sampler, but with a better mouthfeel and more pronounced malt base. One of the better brews in the sampler and it doesn’t have that sickly metallic tinge either.

Not too bad though nothing distinctive going on here. It just tastes like a higer quality ale.

12 oz bottle pours copper with a short tan head that fades fast. Aroma is light floral hops over some caramel malts. Flavor is sweet of caramel, some fair floral hops finish this off crisply. Not much carbonation. medium body. Average..

This one is supposed to emulate Anchor Steam. A good attempt but not up to the level there. However, I appreciate the effort. There are not many of this style available today. Appearance is clear and red color with a nice semi thick head. Taste is a little smoky, toasty, some malts detectable. Okay for what it is trying to be.

Clear reddish appearance, sweet caarmel malt aroma. Sweet sticky caramel mlat flavor, overly sweet. Pretty much a sweet rich amber lager, not much complexity.

Only my second california common, and my first taste of the Joseph Huber Brewing Company’s "Beers of America" variety packk which my dad picked up at Sam’s Club. To be honest I wasn’t expecting much from this beer, nor am I expecting too much from the other five varieties. But this was not a bad beer. It has a sweetish, nutty aroma and a smokey malty flavor. Pours a really pretty dark amber brown with a medium tan head. The palate is pretty nice too. Not too carbonated, Not too watery, and just a little alcohol at the finish. This beer is definitely underrated.

Bottle. Pours a reddish copper with thin, white head. The aroma is toast, caramel, and the faintest of hops. The flavor is kind of weak, but has some toast to it, very faint malt, and woody hops in the finish. Drinkable, but not really my thing.

Aroma: Light caramel, malt. ... Appearance: Amber, with diminishing head. .. Flavor: Crisp nose, with slightly watery mouthfeel. Alcohol present in flavor, mildly acidic. Some malt sweetness. ... Palate: Almost none existent. Some malt sweetness in the aftertaste. ... Overall: Not horrible, but a mediocre beer which I wouldn’t purchase again.
