| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 27, 2007 Clear and deep gold; headless. Sweet, syrupy nose. Light body; somewhat watery mouthfeel; lively carbonation. Odd taste, as expected (I’m not a big fan of sorghum), but I like to keep an open mind. Overall, the beer was a little too sweet for my buds. Made me think of maple syrup and fruit cake the whole time I was drinking it. Finish came with a one-dimensional, stark bitterness (plant stems, flower petals, iron), which lingered too long. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 26, 2007 On the pour, the beer sets in the glass a sunlit clear gold with the head a two finger frothy white that remains longer than I expected, lace a concealing sheet. Nose has a fruit like sweetness from the buckwheat with a mushroom like musky tone, not bad, just a tad different. Start has a sweet earthy presence; slight bite at the back, top is light to medium in its feel. Finish has a durable acidity, sweet and long lasting slightly bitter aftertaste, not bad, just a little out of the ordinary. mrant (330), New York, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Oct 23, 2007 Smells spicy. Pours a crystal clear amber with no head. This is the second sorghum beer i’ve tasted and its the last. The taste is awful. Reminds me of a dirty sock or something. beerheart (237), Erie, Colorado, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 21, 2007 Poured a deep amber with a fading off-white head. The sorghum gives a gentle spiciness. It hinted off nutmeg to me. This was a bit skunky. I actually liked the New Grist better. douglas88 (1646), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Aug 28, 2007 Bottle. Golden color with a very weak head. The sorghum is so overpowering, and tatses too much like glue. It’s sweet and smooth. Not what I like in a beer, the sorghum is interesting, and the title is cool that’s about it. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 22, 2007 Bottle: Yellow gold, light white head, light lacing. Nose of light dust and hops, some odd grainy notes. The flavor is ok, somewhat toasty and moldy, but distinctly not barley. The finish is spicy. Meh. MrRain (433), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Aug 21, 2007 12oz bottle poured into a shaker. BTDG pours brass with a very quickly disappearing head. It smells faintly of vinegar. It has a sweet cottony taste that really doesn’t settle well. The finish is like grease. It’s like when you’ve eaten too many of those fried potato sticks that come in a can. This beer can be wrapped up mostly with "Yuck".
