Commercial Description:
This Golden Sorghum Lager will appeal to beer drinkers who prefer the lighter taste of lagers produced by the major brewers, such as Anheuser-Busch, Coors, Miller, and Heineken. This ale has a light crisp taste to meet the thirst quenching requirements of the lager style while still having enough body to interest the ale drinker during the spring and summer seasons. This beer has low bitterness and a subtle but pleasant hop aroma that will gently caress the senses.

Note: contract brewed for Bard's Tale Beer (http://www.bardsbeer.com/).

Bottle: Pours a dark golden color with a smaller white head. Aroma is sweet and of malts and honey. Flavor is sweet and honeylike with a bit of caramel. Creamy mouthful. Can’t say it tasted real bad, but it lacked much definitive flavor overall.

I’m a fantasy junkie. I’m in a band that writes songs about video games, grew up on Tolkien’s LoTR and have a replica of Sting (no,not the singer) mounted on my wall. Needless to say, I was pretty turned on by the name of Bard’s Tale Beer - Dragon’s Gold. Good lord, was I wrong. This beer almost has a scent. It also almost has a flavor. It has very crisp carbonation that leaves your mouth as soon as you swallow. I’d rather have a Bud Lite than this yard-trash.

Bottle courtesy of sloth. Pours gold with a thin white head. Smells of sweet caramel, rice, cookie dough. Tastes watery with some weird underlying sweetness. Saccharine like finish.

bottled, poured clear brown (watered down cola) with NO head, aroma of something mildly sweet...not too sure what it is, huge carbonation in the mouth with flavor of....nothing. Tastes like sparkling water with a single hop leaf, not terrible, just nothing there. I feel bad rating this on ratebeer.com because it’s so far from a beer.

bottle- not too bad- fairly sweet- no noticeable hop character, no head retention, and light amount of carbonation, but drinkable in small doses. preferred redbridge.

Dragon Whiz. In Zimbabwe (which I knew as Rhodesia) the Mashona brew a substance called doro, which is made of millet or sorghum. They use bread yeast, and drink large quantities until they are bestonkered. It’s a ghastly mess, but better and safer than the water. This tasted almost exactly like that. Bottle. Poured pale gold with white foam. Aroma of caramel, and nothing else. Flavour of caramel, and water. Finish of caramel and nothing else. Pas op!.
