Deep brown nitro pour with a creamy off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma picked up sweeter, lightly-roasted chocolate.. felt a tad rushed with some airy floral notes.. overall artificial feel to it. Flavor found mildly-bitter dry chocolate and coffee notes.. mostly empty middle.. grainy, unpleasant finish. Light-bodied with a heavier sweetness on the palate. Not a good stout. | 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Mar 13, 2007 From the tap, served in a restaurant pint glass.
Poured a dark brown with foamy, creamy slightly off-white head that settled into a thin creamy lacing.
Softly sweet aromas, coffee with cream and candied caramel.
Steady, but moderate carbonation and a softly crisp, watery slick, dryish, creamy smooth almost medium-light bodied mouthfeel.
Sweet, watery tasting, a light earthy coffee with sweet cream, caramel mixed with watery cereal grain, the roastiness of the malts is subtle at best, hops, what hops?, and a dryish, watery charcoal, cereal, caramel finish.
I had this at a restaurant with a beef burrito for lunch, the bartender bragged to me that this was better than Beamish, obviously he was full of shit.

| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Feb 26, 2007 On draft @ the Cottage in Lake Worth. I reluctanly tried this one after they ran out of all alternatives. No aroma. It looks like a stout, black, nice creamy head. Not much going on in flavor. Tastes pretty much like black water. There was some metal taste. Not EVEN close to a decent stout! flops98 (9), becker, Minnesota, USA does not count | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Feb 26, 2007 a little lighter than I expected.A nice color.
