Draught. I’ll be the first one to admit I am anti-Anheuser Busch, but there is clearly rampant brewer bias happening on this site with this beer. Bare Knuckle Stout is virtually indistingushable from Guinness Draught yet the latter enjoys an 83rd percentile, while BK Stout is mired at 25. C’mon people, rate with your heads not with your hearts. I stumbled across this brew at Grandma’s Saloon in Minneapolis. There was a table tent at my table pumping this as their Beer of the Month. No brewer was indicated. I walked past the bar and saw an expensive looking brass boxer tap handle, and the name "Bare Knuckle Stout", but still no mention of the brewer. I immediately thought that it must be Anheuser Busch trying to avoid the very brewer bias that we see on this page. I commend them on finally making a serious attempt at competing in the "craft beer" world. Guiness should be very afraid. Rich roasted malt aroma with chocolate notes. Looks and has the mouthfeel of a cask conditioned brew. Same appearance as Guiness. Well made and quaffable. Has the same boring, one-dimensional flavor as Guinness Draught. 9 out of 10 people on this site would not be able to correctly identify which one was which if subjected to a blind taste test. Correction, 5 out of 10 would because of randomly guessing right.

[nitro draft - MacGregor’s - Henrietta, NY] Dark black pour with a creamy tan head. Very faint aroma of coffee and bitter malt. The taste is very much full of coffee and extremely bitter. Very watery for a stout and not that pleasant an aftertaste.

Draught. Not terrible for an AB offering, but not that good either. Creamy looking head, with coffee and light bit of chocolate. Flavor is more of a let down. Watery, and thin. Not that bad. Bitterness in finish comes from malt (roasted).

Black withwhite head. Creamy coffee aroma, though faint. Watery flavor, maybe a hint of chocolate? It really seems like AB wanted a blander Guinness, and if so, this is a rousing success.

While skiing at Snowshoe,WV I tried a new stout from the tap. I was surprised to learn it was an Anheuser-Busch product. Maybe the Guinness ads have them worried. I found the stout very drinkable. It had some body and the head was creamy. The head faded faster than other stouts. The color was a rich black and the finish was smooth. My stout experience is rather young but I found this to be good product. I don’t think they have failed. It will certainly be in more bars because it is an Anheuser-Busch product and this will hopefully increase interest in stouts, and porters.

I can’t beleive this is from AB... It looked nice, dark brown, almost black with a light, smooth tan head. There was almost no aroma, the body was way too thin, and the only thing I could taste was a light hint of chocolate once it warmed a bit. This was a terrible example of a stout. It may have been better if they hadn’t ruined it with nitro...

FREE beer at Sea World! I did not know that An-Bus made a stout. Wasn’t that bad, considering. Very burnt roasted taste to the malt, which was interesting. I guess it would make a good stout for a beginner (if they can get over the charcoal aftertaste). Something else of interest: the person running the Budweiser Freshness Taste Test said to me, "We don’t use that word around here" (The word being ’skunky")

Nice dark brown color, small tan head that faded quickly but left a slight lace behind. The aroma was roasty and malty with a slight coffeeish thing coming through.Malty taste with a decent but weak roasty side, the brew kind of left me hanging for more flavor.Over all it’s a decent try and a brew worth trying but it’s not any where near what they were thinking of getting out of it but it might swing a few folks who have never tryed something this dark before.
