A traditional strong ale brewed with Lager and Maris Otter barley malts. Hopped with English Goldings.

Bottle conditioned, from the brewery. Another strong beer from this idiosyncratic brewery from a small town in Yorkshire. Hazy amber colour. A little too much bubblegum and candy sugar in the aroma. Fair amount of hop in the flavour but could do with a bit more malt to provide extra body. Rather hot, alcoholic mouthfeel. In a fairly light bodied, sweetish beer the alcohol burn is rather too intrusive. Interesting but not their best effort.

Bottle at Chris_O’s. Golden with a thin white head. Lemony hops in the nose with a sweet malt and citrus hop flavour. Not great.

A Mes rate: Bottle at Chris_O’s HogTownHarry minifest. Thanks to Chris. Gold colour with a slight white head. Sweet malt, alcohol and pineapple. Little bit sickly but I’ve had worse.

Bottle (500ml). Shared with chris_o, mes_and_sim, harrisoni, reakt and duff - via chris_o. Orange-amber, slightly hazy, with a small fast-disappearing frothy head. Slightly sour aroma, little bit of apricot, fairly mild alcohol for 9% - maybe perfume hops; maybe. The taste is sour, tacky and papery, with a hint of apple and iron - two of my favorite things; ahem. Thick, hard to choke down body, definitely rusty aftertaste - I really didn’t like it. But the Farrelly Brothers DO give good commentary, Ian. I think I need help.

Bottle drunk at Chris_o’s HogTownHarry meet up. Very hazy, lasting bubbly beige head. Fairly sickly aroma. Some hop. Sickly, alcoholic. "Farrelly Brothers give really good commentary," from Harry. Peach fruit. Earthy. Poorish.
