Lubiere (3250), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 16, 2004 April 2004. Wonderful amber to brown beer, with a maple syrup aroma and vanilla. Maple syrup taste with light hops. Abit too light and slightly oily mouthfeel. Called Tata T-Bone Scotch ale at Hunter’ Mtn Brewfest. RIP CapFlu (3292), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada May 1, 2004 (Draught) Pours a deep red body and a thin, white head. Nose is strongly overcome with sweet brown sugar. Nice and sugary with a touch of scotch. Good! MartinT (4330), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Apr 29, 2004 Creamy malt plurality invoking butterscotch, brown sugar and hard toffee...This is an all-malt affair, and I like it...Another apt interpretation of an English style from this brewery... tiggmtl (4181), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Apr 28, 2004 Chocolate, caramel aroma. Sweet, dark and appealing. Clear dark brown with thin diminishing head. Flavour does not live up to the richness of the aroma - some chocolate, mildly sweet flavour. Not much malty character. A bit thin and light for a wee heavy. On tap at TapNY festival. muzzlehatch (4425), Burlington, Vermont, USA Apr 26, 2004 TAP NY sample. Dark maple color, big brown sugar-maple-caramel (sugar!sugar!sugar!) nose, nothin' but sweet. Not much malt and no evident hops in the body, very little carbonation. Promising start, little to show for it.
