Derek881 (285), Frederick, Maryland, USA Jul 6, 2008 I had this beer on tap at the brewery, under the name "Wit Wedding" in June. This beer was gross, there is no way around that fact. It had a golden straw-lemon color with a thin white head. The aroma was somewhat wheaty, but had a dominant, "stinky cheese" funk. The body was wet and sweet, but also had the aforementioned weird taste. It was thinner and had low carbonation. I let my friends try to make sure I was right, and they agreed it was a rough beer at best. LordHedgehog (144), Westminster, Maryland, USA Nov 12, 2003 No head, a deep yellow color. Unlike the sample hopscotch reviewed, mine was completely clear and much more yellow than pear colored. The citrus aroma was very strong. Crisp, slightly too bitter, and a little rough on the tongue. I found this a disappointment, new brewer or no. hopscotch (4379), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jul 16, 2003 ***New Brewmaster at Barley and Hops. What a difference. Nothing against the Owner/former brewmaster, but he was stretched a bit thin running the joint while trying to cover all the brewing duties.***
Cloudy, pear-colored beer. Small, fizzy, white head. Quickly dissipating.
The nose is very light and fruity with notes of yeast, butter, spice (not clove) and banana.
The flavor is perfectly balanced with lots of citrus and banana in the flavor. Nicely bittered. Somewhat astringent.
Medium-bodied (no, really, even at 3.9% ABV) with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, clean finish. A very refreshing brew from Barley and Hops. Their beers used to really disappoint me.
