egajdzis (2865), Terrapin, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 11, 2004 Cask... Poured a dark brown color with a tan bubbly head but left no lacing on the glass. Fruity, vanilla, bourbon, and light roast aroma. Creamy vanilla, some roast and very little whiskey. Thin like the regular dry stout this brewpub makes. drkilmer (35), Myersville, Maryland, USA Aug 19, 2004 On the beer engine at the brewery. What a great stout! I went back on s few more nights to get more. Black, silky beer with a light off-white head. Elements of oak, vanilla, and chocolat along with Black Jack. I did find it to be a bit inconsistent from night to night, but that’s probably the vagaries of cask conditioning. One of the best beers I’ve ever had! It’s gone now ... unfortunately. hopscotch (4358), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jan 31, 2004 Updated: Jan 11, 2006Draft... This beer rocks! ... Very dark, clear, crimson ale. Small, fizzy, off-white head. The nose is of oak, chocolate, Black Jack and vanilla. Huge whisky flavor with notes of vanilla and creamy chocolate. Perfectly balanced and very smooth. No whisky bite. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and pillow soft carbonation. Short, dry, whisky finish. World class brew!
