KSS (102), Plymouth, Minnesota, USA Apr 26, 2006 I stopped by this brew pub on a business trip and it was definitely worth the stop. This highly aromatic copper colored ale had a wonderful floral and fruit nose. The taste started out with a hint on sweetness followed by an extremely astringent grapefruit finish. I am not a "hop head’, but this brew was wonderful. LordHedgehog (144), Westminster, Maryland, USA May 9, 2004 Pumpkin orange with a firm head. The beer has a malty character, but the hops are too bitter -- I like hops, but there needs to be more balance between the bitter and the hops flavor. Strong, but just missing some of the flavors I expect in a double IPA. More like an extra-bitter IPA. hopscotch (4358), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Apr 30, 2004 Updated: May 5, 2004This beer rocks!
Murky, deep golden ale with orange highlights. Small, fizzy, white head with decent retention. The nose reveals notes of toffee, apricot and alcohol. Heavily hopped with a huge malt backbone. Blasts of caramel, butterscotch and fuzzy fruit up front. Big, juicy hops do a great job of tempering the malty sweetness. Full-bodied with an oily/syrupy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Lengthy, bitter, very dry finish. HopHeads should really dig this one. World class brew from a much improved microbrewery!
