Derek881 (311), Frederick, Maryland, USA Nov 9, 2006 I enjoyed this quality beer at the 2006 Frederick Oktoberfest on draft out of the bucket I purchased. The aroma was powerfully rich, and with caramel and roasty sensations. It had a dark amber color and only a thin head. The body was medium with an almost lively carbonation level. Definitely a beer that fit the occasion! themadmumis (343), Westminster, Maryland, USA Sep 30, 2006 Just sampled from 2006 Brewfest in Union Mills, MD. Nothing too much going on here. This was the first sample I had for the day and it is unfortunately rough around the edges. Mild gritiness and preemptive alcohol bite make this offering less than its capable of. hopscotch (4399), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Oct 26, 2003 Updated: Jul 9, 20082004 Edition... This beer rocks!...
One of the best Marzens I’ve ever had. Beautiful, crystal clear, copper lager with a small, creamy, white head. The nose and flavor have huge notes of caramel, toffee, clover, black pepper, earthy hops and warm, Autumnal alcohol. Medium to full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, moderately bitter, sticky, grassy finish. World class brew!
2003 Edition...
Sparkling clear, copper lager.
Fruity aroma with notes of caramel.
Malty flavor with big caramel blasts. Well-bittered.
Thin and fizzy. Lengthy, bitter finish. Nice Marzen. Big hops for the style.
