Bottle@Home, vintage 2008. Lactic and malty aroma. Hazy, dark brown colour, light brown head, good lace. Sweet, bitter, allspice, licorice, coffee, light lactic. Dusty mouth feel. Flavourful, bit off balance, alcohol hidden.

Bottle, bought @ De Molen.
Pours deep muddy greyish brown with a small, creamy, off-white film head. Aroma has raisins, chocolate, viniousness, caramel, liqourice and fat maltiness. Medium carbonation, fine and very dry mouthfeel. Flavour is quite ashy, raisins, light chocolate, softly roasted, vinious. Long, lingering grainy bitterness. A bit weird. But okay.

750ml bottle, with thanks to Beastiefan2k for sharing. Pours dark brown with a frothy tan head. Aroma is heavy on the dark fruits, some toffee, and a little chocolate. Flavor is a bit thinner, also forward on the dark fruits, with dark berry and a little caramel. Eugene says this bottle has over a year on it, and that seems to come across on the palate and flavor. Thanks for sharing Eugene!

Pours a very dark brown, almost prune purplish black with a huge 3 finger frothy coffee colored head with excellent retention that slowly fades into a lasting cap that coats the glass with large chunks of soapy lacing. Roasted malt aroma with hints of bitter dark chocolate malt, dark fruits, especially plum, dark cherry and fig as well as some spice. Roasted malt flavor with a lot of bitter dark chocolate and dark fruit, especially plum, raisin, dark cherries, grape and fig. There is also a good bit of cocoa and coffee bean to balance things out. The sweetness of the estery fruit notes are balanced by the roasted notes and the subtle hops provide a slight dry finish. The alcohol is undetectable and the excellent balance make this beer extremely quaffable. Highly recommended!

Bottled. Aroma is slightly vinous, has roast, chocolate and dark fruits. Dark brown coloured beer with a short, beige head. The taste is sweet, slightly sour, has dark & dried fruits, some black currant. Medium bodied (so thin for an ASA). okay.

Bottled. Dark color, short head. Aroma of some roasted malt, bit hop, some chocolat, slight hint of grapes. Bit fruity taste, soft malty body, hint of alcohol. Not as strong as american strong ales usually are, but more a thin italian version. Decent balance, but a bit thin compared to his harsh american brothers.

(bottle - 375 ml) Dark brown in color with a tan head. Aroma is spicy and fruity with some light hints of chocolate. Flavor is spicy and yeasty at the beginning with a lot of chocolate and roasted malts in the middle. Finishes with some very apparent cherry and grape notes. Very warming on the palate.
