Lively fruit in the nose from the hop profile. Caramel maltiness on the palate, showing nice balance between the malt sweetness and the bitter bite from the hops coming through in the afterpalate, leaving a nice lingering finish, but still manages to remain clean and crisp. Nicely done. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 2, 2006 Clear copper with an off white head and spotty lacing. Fruity nose with lemons and oranges. Some bitter hops with crystal malts. Flavor is of caramel and light fruity hops. Creamy because of the nitro. Finish is fruity and malty. Too bad it was on nitro.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 18, 2006 A very basic example of this style. A very nice copper penny coloring. This is a doughy, sweet and overly malty. The hop character is all wrong for the style in my opinion, herbal and astringent. bitter bleach water. The only great thing about this beer is that it is finished and has a great appearance from start to finish, great lacing. BückDich (4848), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 2, 2004 Ruby bronze color with light head and some lacing. The aroma has some candy cane sweet notes along with an herbal hop character. Noticable diactyl that accents the dark malts. Finishes lightly on the bitter side. good ESB with a trademark PNW signature in the tail. baobubba (449), Corvallis, Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 16, 2003 Dark amber with a fine off-white thin head. Strong caramel and roast morphing into a interesting butterscotch. Light bubble gum and cascade hops round out the aroma. Light roast coming out on taste. Light bitter finish. Quite smooth. Good ESB schm1005 (150), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 16, 2002 This is a good ESB, nothing to complain about but nothing to celebrate either. Solid ESB aroma. Best enjoyed after a long drive through the eastern Oregon boondocks. herbstress3 (221), Bellingham, Washington, USA
