Angeloregon (1694), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 21, 2008 Hazy dark amber-orange-sienna body with a tiny white head. Mild malt and smoky nose. Full-bodied clean and crisp. Another crisp clean easy drinking Barley Brown offering! skoisirius (432), Seattle, Washington, USA Feb 27, 2008 On tap at the pub . Pours a lighter mahagony amber red with a minimal white head. Aroma of light smoke, faint hint at bacon, and whiskey. Flavor is very well balanced for a "smoked" beer. Flavors are more mellow than the aroma, but blend nicely. Faint hints at whiskey, sour corn, sweet malts, and towards the end a very small hint of hops blends fantastically with the whiskey flavor. I’m not usually into this kind of brew, but this was very well balanced, and not over-powering. Good to sip, as it gets damn good when warm. jcwattsrugger (3757), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Nov 8, 2007 on tap-pours a light tan head and amber color. Aroma is malt-wood. Taste is medium malt-some caramel, secondary woody hops. Mild carbonation. JMFG (1002), Florida, USA Sep 17, 2007 On tap. Cloudy caramel color with a thin broken off-white head. Creamy palate, nice low carbonation palate. This really reminds me more of a Scottish with some smoke hints, not a straight-up smoked beer. Nice light smoky caramel malt aroma present. Slight sweet beginning to the taste and a filling malt character throughout. A nuanced Scottish. BuckeyeBoy (1090), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 25, 2007 On Tap at the Brewpub pours out a redish brown topped with a small head. A very nice aroma of smoke and malts. Pretty nice beer.
