tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA Feb 2, 2008 This tastes more like a flemish sour, but when thats not on purpose, thats a problem. I think, like many others have said, this turned. Not horrible, but this is odd and wrong. No real hops or anything. Just sour.
Slipstream (310), USA May 27, 2008 On tap at a bar/restaurant near Lake Wallenpaupack, Pennsylvania. Dark brown pour, no head. A malty German beer - I had a little trouble identifying the style. The taste was pretty good - fairly dry and hoppy, but on the thin side. checkmatei1 (215), Willow Grove, USA May 5, 2008 Bottle: The description states that this beer is easy drinking. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t as hard as the others in the case. There were brief flavors of coffee and chocolate but they were gone quickly. Overall, best beer in the case..but that’s not saying much. DandyWolfFloyd (200), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 31, 2008 1st Schwarzbier, Initially the aroma is malty, with some albeit mild hops. Its appearance is trully black, but not motor oil. It’s flavor is a very clean with some roasty malt & hops as well. Its extremely smooth. I could drink this, but its sort of like a porter without the hutzpah. Sort of ordinary. Not entirely sure I’m tasting everything this hopes for. n49921 (78), USA Jan 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark with little head. Had a pretty mellow taste with a bit of chocolate. Not the best black lager I’ve had, but ot bad.
