| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 2, 2006 Appearance: Served a golden orange color with a frothy cap.
Smell: Sweet honey Munich malt aroma. A hint of grain and some sugar. Nice.
Taste: A smooth lightly spiced sweet malty flavor in the mouth is remarkably easy going. Extremely quaffable, slightly reserved flavor with only a subtle floral green showing up in the finish of this balanced sweet relaxed beer.
Mouthfeel: Creamy and smooth around the edge and remarkably slick and juicy through the center.
Drinkability: This beer sits very lightly. It is an easy drinking very good Miabock I highly recommend this on-tap at Barley Creek. Well done!
Hope this is helpful.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 6, 2005 On tap at the brewery. Nice deep golden color with a moderate whitish head. Slightly sweet, which is expected in a spring bock. Nice malt flavor with some hop bitterness. JFURYCAT (792), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 14, 2005 Updated: May 21, 2008Rerate: Its now called Mountaneer Maibock Lager which doesn’t make any sense. This year it has a lot of sourness and the alcohol can be found in a bite in the flavor. The aroma seems less existent. I think something happened with temperatures during fermentation.
Rerate 5-6-07
Its still an easy drinker but this year it seems more crisp and the flavor is more assertive than the product they made before. The malty fruit qualities seem more pronounced and its sweeter.
My rating just climbed. A friend of mine has a keg of this every spring.

Ri now this beer has its devotees hitting the Creek for it. People were talking about it for weeks before it came out. It had virtually no head and barely any aftertaste to it. It had a distinct malty flavor with a slight sting to my tongue (must be the hop doing that). It was clear and clean with a nice finish. I had this on tap. 5-17-06 rerating. They’ve refined this one. The slight hoppy bitterness is still here but the malty flavor balances out much more nicely in a more plesant mouthfeel. Prostman (1077), Pennsylvania, USA
