Lots of head, fine bubbles, medium fine carbonation. Nose is kind of sharply yeasty & faintly sweet. Taste initially a bit yeasty but quite quenching and a little nice hop bite. Solid malt body that is not sticky. Slightly heavier than medium feel. Long plae-malty finish with nice hop bitterness, a fresh sweet-grass quality, At first I felt it kind of leaned to a macro micro, but it’s actually a decently made wonderfully simple EPA. Pours a fairly clear orange gold with modest white head, some retention. Nose of spices and light fruit. Flavour is also spicy with a real citrus hop kick. Lingering dry spicy finish. Fizzy carbonation. Wouldn’t call this a pale ale, but it’s ok. Just ok. AWS9 (228), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Decent hops and barley to begin, but a sour, astringent, slightly citrusy finish I find pretty repugnant. Elkas (86), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2009 Another change has been made to this beer. Brewery is now using some water treatment in their pale ale in order to reduce the previously "stunted" hop flavour and balance. Result is longer linger in the hops from start to finish, and smoother malt profile. Could not finish one bottle!! Poured flat into the glass, no head retention and no lace(and yes the glass was perfectly clean), nice colour though. Aroma DMS, cooked corn /veg, sulphur ?? Astringant flavour right off the bat, bitter not in a good hop way, burnt grain flavour, no percevable hop character for a pale ale.Not really impressed. New equipment, new brewmaster, same beer!!!
