Lovely looking in the glass, a hazy, golden orange, under a considerable head, looking nice...
Aroma was very lovely, a mix of citrus, spice, yeast and more, very uplifting and aromatic.
Taste is this again and then some, zesty, citric, spicy, tasty, very flavorful, mucho deliciouso...for a style little attempted by any American breweries, this is a revelation. I’ve had a few "real" versions, and this one "hit it"!
I had two servings and would’ve had more, if it weren’t closing time. I urge one and all to march up (or down) to NB and try some of this!

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 7, 2006 On tap at the brewpub, August 2006. Hazed and pale goldenrod in color with a dense, creamy white head. Ripe banana muffins grace the nose with cloves and vanilla, then joining the likes of lemon almond butter, banana meringue and a subtle honey graham exposure. Well-rounded sugar enclave moves into a buttercream feel and flavor. Sweet substance dances harmoniously alongside oozing banana crème centers. Titillating carbonation with a flakey sugar roll gels the fruity esters together. Coriander gives a glimpse at the end of each sip, but there’s no slowing the melting make of powdered sugar. Lemon shortbread with banana suggestions imparts a lighter, brighter tone underneath the buttery banana aspects. Medium-bodied with soft, pronounced bitterness. Tongue hugging finish checks out while banana bread pudding sweetly reminds us of how delightful Belgian-style brewing can be. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 9, 2008 Dark orange with a large head. Aroma of dry grain, light floral hops and a touch of spice. Thick and chewy malt flavor. Very light spice and a decent helping of yeasty flavors. Seems pretty strong for a Table Beer, but a solid tasting brew anyway. Light hop, light spice, light sweet estery malt. Light flavor (it is a little cold), but well put together.

Aroma is sweet, banana and vanilla again. Weird how this is a continuing thing in the last 2 bottles I’ve rated. Flavor is plasticy and sweet. Kind of strange. drewbeerme (2309), Chicago, Illinois, USA
