Commercial Description:
Spiced with corriander and fresh orange peel, this golden ale enjoys a beautiful clarity with a thick foamy "Belgian Lace" head. We added a pale ale's worth of East Kent Goldings hops into this one for a crisp and bitter finish.Optionally served with an orange slice.

RBSG 2007 at Barley John’s. The beer is a hazy pale straw colored body with a creamy white head. The aroma is fruity yeasty Belgian ale mixed with an English hop. The flavor is fruity with light oranges and hay with Belgian yeasts. Drying palate with a nice bitterness and texture.

One of the better beers from BJ’s. It has a light Belgian yeast aroma that includes hops. Flavor is quite dry, lightly spiced. Cloudy yellow with a nice head. More of a saison than a Belgian ale.

Pale orange color with a medium sized white head that had tons of staying power. I didn’t get a whole lot in the aroma, a bit of typical belgiany yeasty aromas, maybe. There is a hit of belgian tasting spice and other notes initially with a long bitter finish. Strange.

RBSG 2007. Hazy copper color with a medium head. Powerful aroma that was way too much on the Lysol/soapy side of the spectrum. Lots of coriander and hops for the taste. Bitter finish. The yeasty parts are really the only thing that suggest to me "Belgian". Not bad, but not what I would expect when I hear "Belgian Bitter".

On tap at the Barly Johns brewpub, pours a hazy golden yellow brew with an average sized white head. Aroma of banana ester, grapefruit peel, a touch of yeast and some grassy hops. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated, and a light yeasty aftertaste. The grassy hop bite that lingers around after the finish. An interesting brew.

Golden color beer with a snow whit ehead. Sweet wheaty nose. Dry wheat body, slightly bitter.

Pours the color of sunshine. Lightly hazy. Sugar dipped Clementine and vanilla aroma. Slightly musty but bright wheat edges. Grassy bitter taste is most obvious. The pleasant song of Belgian yeast hums in the background. Dusty, aged, but fresh. Springtime flowers sprouting amongst the farmhouse straw. Palate is sprightly and soft. Quite lovely.
