Commercial Description:
This Pale Ale was inspired by the hop growing regions of the Pacific NW (on the left coast) by way of a hearty dose of Mt. Hood hops accentuated by Cascade and Amarillo. A mix of crystal, wheat and brewer’s malts provide a balanced malty background for the Left Coast hops to bounce off of.

Draft at the brewpub. Very pretty nose. Some bright fruity hops with a subtle lavender/floral aroma. Pours rich amber with nice lacing all the way down the glass. Only mildly bitter but crisp and refreshing.

Very nice PNW hopping exhibited in this APA and a bit more bitter bite than generally expected. Medium grapefruit and pine are evident. The suporting caramel maltiness is strong enough to do the job in a very balanced way. Nicely brewed.

On tap at the brewpub. Dark amber color with faint white head. Bittery hoppy flavor and nose.

on tap Barley Johns a burnt copperish color w/ a small white head, good lacing, and visible carbonation. Light floral hop aroma some nice fruity notes as well w/ a touch of sweetness. Palate is pretty avg. Flavor is lightly bitter a dry grassy bitterness which really does dominate a light bit of carmel no real fruit comes through.. Pretty 1 dimensional taste. Easy to drink, and not bad, but not special either.
