Aroma of malt, slight toffee and slight bitter hops. Flavour is the same, malty dry beer. I don’t really sense bitterness. A slight bit watery. kp (8396), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

Taste is medium sweet, herbal/earthy, some peach ,light melon, caramel. Light-medium body with low carbonation. MilkmanDan was with me, and assures me it tasted much better the last time he was there -- I wish I got to try that version. CaptainCougar (5487), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Lightly sweet pale malty nose has a fresh, slight earthy English hoppy presence. Body starts lightly sweet and refreshing with a decent bittering hoppy balance and faint toffee toward a thinner, crisp finish. A good session brew. hopscotch (5483), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Incredible retention. Odd smelling for a bitter, but I like it. Earthy, woodsy aroma with undercurrents of spent mash and delicately toasted barley. Restrained bitter-sweet flavors of caramel, English-American hybrid hops and boiled grain. Light-bodied and fizzy. Short, crisp, mildly bitter finish. BückDich (4848), McCall, Idaho, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 14, 2004 Sample at the brewpub. Clean, clear dark amber; big sweet cherry-malty nose, quite wonderful. Very dry, light, but full palate, with a nice finishing biscuity quality; could use perhaps a bit more sweetness, and less astringency to end, but very nice overall. Pours a thin golden orange brew with an average sized off-white, slowly disolving head. Aroma of roasted caramel barley malt and a touch of citrus fruit. Taste is dry bitter, medium bodied, carbonated, and a dry bitter aftertaste. Finish is a little sour and then a lingering bitter aftertaste.
