iowaherkeye (1411), relocated to Santa Rosa f/Iowa, California, USA Jul 11, 2008 Growler from Andy pepsican! I had this over a year ago and loved it--I think I had it somewhere around a 3.8. I’ll enter it in 15 years with the rest of my backlog. Poured into my Barley John’s tulip. Clear honey amber with a 1 1/2 finger off-white head, fading to a half finger before long. Aroma of some sweet caramel and grain, green leafy hops, and the same honey graham cracker Andy got. Also some light grapefruity hops. Flavor has a little less hops than I remember (as did the aroma), but still plenty of malts--caramel, honey and graham--and doesn’t really get that sweet. Finishes with bitterness peaking around a 2-3 with some dried leafy hops. Light to moderate carbonation with light body. I could drink so much of this stuff--a wonderful session beer, though I’m not quite sure it’s as good as it was last year (just like everything else!). amish_caravan (210), Winona, Minnesota, USA Mar 21, 2008 golden color. scent of malt and barley. taste is the same with an average finish. a decent bitter. IlanMan (571), Winona, Minnesota, USA Mar 21, 2008 Very nice floral and light citrusy aroma. Taste was very floral with a little corn and medium hops. Had a bitter finish. Decent brew but not worth me buying again. Nice to try though. CaptainCougar (4663), Rockville, Maryland, USA Nov 18, 2007 On tap at the brewpub on 6/23/07: Pours a transparent bright golden with a well-lacing froth of off-white head. Lightly sweet pale malty nose has a fresh, slight earthy English hoppy presence. Body starts lightly sweet and refreshing with a decent bittering hoppy balance and faint toffee toward a thinner, crisp finish. A good session brew.
