RblWthACoz (959), Brooklyn, New York, USA Feb 12, 2008 Pours a very slightly clouded gold and straw with a decent sized off white head. Nice, if not uneventful nose. Definite sugar and spices, and everything nices. Flavor is decent. Some definite fruit tones in there. Almost like drinking beer with a juice edge. A bit thin. So is the feel. Much thinner than I would prefer, but it is still a nice beer overall. It doesn’t kill it. This is an easy drinker. Too bad the body isn’t a bit more firm.
jrt (61), USA Jun 1, 2008 This is a really nice beer. Don’t know if it’s a triple. For sure, I would say that it’s a unique, addictive golden ale that defines the difference between complex and complicated. Basically, it all comes down to balance. There’s quite a few distinct flavors, yet there’s no sense of overcrowding the tongue. I get a quick blast of ephemeral spice, toasty malts, sharp cheddar cheese (!), grass, and a bit of sour fruit. All that’s well and good, but it’s important to note that it’s the overall balance and the nice, watery space between flavors that distinguishes this beer from the vast majority of big golden 750’s. Try it. ryan (1673), Beltsville, Maryland, USA May 22, 2008 Courtesy of argo0. Very cloudy pale body with a medium white head. Hoppy nose with cotton candy, some honey and golden fruits. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter with golden raisins, caramel, cotton candy, honey and bandaid. Medium body is round with moderate carbonation, slightly medicinal finish. argo0 (6019), Washington DC, USA May 22, 2008 (750ml bottle) Medium white head atop hazy, flecked straw body. Aroma is grassy/straw, some skunk, light apricot. Taste is medium sweet, grassy, some honey, light skunk. Medium body, some stickiness. kmweaver (1808), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA May 22, 2008 750mL bottle, courtesy of argo0. Thanks, Aaron! Pours a hazy, bold golden color; white head with medium-bubbled lacing. Lots of honey, yeastiness, and esters in the aroma; singular, honey-laden nose. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: honey, toasty malts, white pepper and soft spicing; an odd, messy tripel with a solid honey core; reasonably tasty stuff, but singular overall. Medium finish: honey, toasty and sugary malts. Crosling (1598), Loveland, Colorado, USA May 18, 2008 Bottle. Appearence is a near perfect light golden with a full head. Aromas hint of flowers, spice, polish and light fruits. Flavor hints of fruits and polish. A fairly good ale.
