Aroma is roasted malt and coffee. Flavor is also roasted malt and coffee with some chocolate to go along. After taste is slightly dry and bitter. Light to medium body. Doesn’t quite have the body of an IS. Still, a very nice beer. Thanks Scott. Saarlander (1579), Rancho Cucamonga, California, USA

Very dominated by chocolate, bitter chocolate, coffee, easy drinking though, as its easy on the aftertaste, very solid brew. Flavor is a nice, roasty mix of roasted oats, dark chocolate, coffee, and a bit of subtle hops. No "monster" Impy, but very drinkable hopscotch (5504), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Decent retention. Smoky, chocolaty, coffee nose. The flavor is nicely hopped, balanced and very drinkable with offerings of dark, bittersweet chocolate, tons of roastiness and light acidity. Full-bodied and ultra-creamy with lively carbonation. Finishes chocolaty, acrid, then dry. Dangerously drinkable. Kudos to the ever generous boboski for supplying the growler! | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 26, 2007 Courtesy boboski. Black with thick light tan head that quickly dissipates down to a thin layer. Light cocoa notes, nice mild hop presence, overall aroma was light. Creamy palate. Slight hop and roast character. Finish was dry with a mild roasty bitterness. Drinkable, with many of the traditional RIS flavors kept in check rather than turned way up. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA

Very creamy and chocolatey aromas. Some vanilla blends in as well. Some mild hops are present in the background. Very creamy and easy drinking for an imperial stout. Hops are noticeable throughout, but take a backseat to the roasty chocolate and dark malts. I could drink alot of this brew. WSSmiles (124), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Bartender’s favorite and suggested by a great friend (and by someone who knows beer). Poured a light black with tan head. The taste was one of those that I was so smooth you could drink it fast, which actually is not a good thing. Will have again and again and again. POD (198), USA

Sweet aroma of coffee and malt. Mouthfeel was not as thick or heavy as I am accustomed to w/my imeprial stouts. Flavors were roast coffee, toffee, malt and molasses. What I found lacking in flavor was a rich full bodied punch or blast. I will rate this impy better than average, but not great.
