| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 15, 2006 Got it on tap at Barley by North Market in Columbus. Though it had a great aroma and it tasted great, but the finish on the toungue was the only major deduction. Overall a great imp stout. nolankowal (855), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 27, 2006 On tap at the Brewhouse next to North Market. Dark black color with a thin tan head. Very well balanced flavor of chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit...sugars were prevalent as well. Very smooth and full bodied, yet a bit thin for an impy stout. Overall, very satisfying. dwyerpg (2553), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 7, 2005 Roasted aroma, perfect coal black color and tan head. This is a very solid stout. Nothing out of the ordinary or too unique, but nothing to make it taste bad either. The best of the Barley beers I had (though that is only four). OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 21, 2005 Pint on draft at the smokehouse - Pours black with a fair tan head that stays well and laces. Aroma is the usual coffee and chocolate found in impy stouts, but this one has some notes of molasses and some raisin. Flavor is very much the same as the aroma. A bit of caramel comes in as well. Palate is full bodied creamy and very smooth in the mouth. Definitely the best Barley’s beer I’ve tried yet. Very nice.. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA

Some sweetness in the nose. Chocolate and coffee evident. Molasses and toffee. Tobacco? Or was that from the cigar I had earlier? Full mouthfeel with a nice oily sensation. The flavor was chocolate and coffee and some prune and sweet candy. An interesting beer.
