Rastacouere (5551), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 2, 2008 Objectively speaking:
Fruity, soft rye ale.
I like:
The rye spiciness which I enjoy comes out, though timidly. Mostly dry palate. Interesting fruity array (peach, pear and the likes). Soft bodied.
I dislike:
Frankly deceivingly simple for a rye beer and really light-bodied. Not much cerealic complexity. Not very aromatic. Timid carbonation accentuates the wateriness. More hops would have been welcome. Aurelius (2643), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Sep 18, 2008 Very pale yellow. Tangy, moderately astringent. Dry cereal finish with a bit of that rye twang. Not terribly fancy or complex, pretty easy drinking. minch25 (346), Columbus, Ohio, USA Sep 10, 2008 Pale yellow, thin head, little carbonation. Faint aroma. Very dry. Grainy, spicy, bitter. Pretty good. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Sep 9, 2008 Gold with hints of red. A gooey head and lace. Flat malt with hints of hops. Semi sweet. Good carbonation and medium body good mouthfeel as well. Very solid offering. vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Sep 2, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy amber with a small white head with good retention. The aroma has citrus, pineapple and something that reminds me of a locker room, yet I’m not repulsed by it. Medium body with semi-soft carbonation. The taste has the dryness of the rye, a nice form of harshness and dry grapefruits. The finish continues even drier with pine needles and pine cones. A very enjoyable IPA that I wish I could get on more than just a stopping place on a long road trip. Marsiblursi (1631), Göteborg, Sweden Apr 1, 2007 (Bottle, thanks moejuck) Pours hazy orange. Hoppy aroma with tones of tangerines, roses and malty/ grainy notes of toasty caramel and rye. Undertones of pine, apricot and grapefruit with a floral hint. Hoppy flavour as well with tones of grapefruit and some flowers. Some toasty caramell undertones. Light sweet and medium bitter. Some grapefruit bitterness lingers along with a touch of caramel and rye. Medium body.
TheEpeeist (1429), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 10, 2007 12 oz, hand bottled. Cloudy apricot topped with a bit of white froth. Lovely nose of cantaloupe and spruce. Light carb, somewhat watery. Rye in the end. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA Feb 10, 2007 Lots of hops followed by some of the rye in the aroma.Pours a hazy orange with a medium off white head.Lots of hops in the flavor.Medium mouthfeel with a bitter hop finish.
