IndianaRed (1553), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 29, 2009 a 22 oz tankard, Ibelieve is the correct term, on Tap at Kahootz in Meridian. I’D. Soft sweet roqsted notes with nice licorice and coffee. Flavor is sweet for an Impy but bitter enough tofogh back a bit. Leathery and earthy, some charcoaal and traces of lastnights campfire. If anything abit under attenuated. A foreign stout perhaps. Still...very nice and way to go, Lang..flying into the sunset this way.
pinkzambia (986), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 26, 2009 Tap @ Kahootz: The bartender told me that they got the last 2 kegs of this from Lang. So, Boise ratebeerians, get over there before they run out of this stuff. It is big, strong and tasty. It has a thick, thick black color with a light brown head. Aromas of plums, Red Man tobacco and alcohol. The flavors are complex: alcohol, chicory, prunes, Dr. Peper and coffee. It has a tangy bite to it with tight carbonation. Delicious! DuffMan (2721), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Jun 5, 2008 Impressive that a small brewpub would include their own imperial stout in the tasting tray. Motor oil black, creamy brown head leaving early lace. Tarry, with licorice and roast character. Bitter finish of medium length. A little harsh alcohol burn rounding out the finish.
