Birdiebeagle (777), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 25, 2009 Draft@Barleys Pours a cloudy copper with a fizzy white head. The head left rapidly. Has mild hoppy aroma of citrus and spruce. The flavor was subtle and good, hops and spices are very good. Well balanced. Good carbination and mouthfeel. Has a medium body. Very clean and lightly crisp. Has a good finish with a nice aftertaste. bleeng (587), Spring near Beersel, Texas, USA Mar 15, 2009 Cask at Dublin Rd. Cloudy, hazy, nice white head. Nose is tangy, tart, fruity. Taste is mild hops, murky, very easy to drink. JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA Dec 21, 2008 On tap at the Smokehouse. Pours a cloudy orangish copper with some head. Lots of citrus hop in the nose. Ton of hop flavor with significant citrus influence, primarily lemon and grapefruit. Solid IPA. Rastacouere (5551), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Sep 29, 2008 Cask @ Barleys 2. A very drinkable pint for which the cask serving worked really well (as is often the case with centennial hops). Very spicy, sweet, earthy and tasty ale. It’s so fresh that it feels green at this point. The gentle acidity manages not to clash or exagerates its acidity, though it gives a lemonade twist accentuated by the low carbonation. Clean and very refreshing IPA with most interesting aromas. BabyJoe692 (109), Pickerington, Ohio, USA Jun 18, 2008 Draft from Cask. Light golden to yellow in color. Had a Rocky white head. Wonderful hop aroma. Definitely balanced to the hoppy side, but not harsh. Smooth and easy to drink. Glouglouburp (2778), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 16, 2008 In short: A refreshing smooth fruity IPA. Soft (too soft) but quite refreshing
How: Tap at brewpub (SmokeHouse location, AleHouse #2)
The look: Cloudy dark yellow body with a small white head
In long: Smooth and juicy beer with citrus fruits, breakfast apple and orange juice flavours. Caramel well integrated with a fruity flavours. Well malted and filling beer. Bitterness is somewhat mild but very juicy flavourful. Very soft carbonation but not more so than average cask beer. Cask condition was appropriate for this soft refreshing beer. That’s not another over-the-top extreme American IPA. I drank my pint in about 5 minutes so this either means that it is a good session beer or I’m a drunk… or both. Ok, both. Drjohnrock (95), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Dec 13, 2007 Draft sampler at Barleys Smokehouse (Ale House #2). Amber color, aroma feaures pine and grapefruit notes and is sweet overall, the flavor a tasty hop/malt combo--kind of like how Moerlien OTR Ale would taste if you dropped the intense malt presence a notch and upped the hops a couple of nothces. Very good brew. Tmoney99 (4652), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Nov 5, 2007 Draft at Smokehouse. Poured hazy copper color with a moderate fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Heavy sour citrus hop aroma. Medium body with slick texture. Heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable brew.
