Medium aroma of roasted coffee and smoke. Medium to full body. Full porter flavor with very small cherry flavor. Good brew that was weak on cherry. BBB63 (4271), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 19, 2003 On tap: Medium brown hue with okay off-white head and some lace. Aroma hinted of toasted malt, nutty, fruity (but not too strong), floral hops, buttery, and smoky. The cherry taste is hidden mostly below the porter character of this beer, it adds a slight sour twang to the brew. Additional tastes on the palate were smoke, nut and mocha. Acidic finish. Clean and lively mouthfeel. Okay beer, the fruit is low keyed and makes this beer quite quaffable. Dogbrick (2907), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 7, 2002 Yet another good brew from Barley’s. Pours almost black with a thin off-white head and minimal lace. Aroma of black cherry was not as strong as I was expecting. Flavor was on the sharp side with cherry and malt present in good harmony. Dry, lightly hopped finish. Not bad at all. kramer (2515), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a mostly cloudy dark brown body with a small fizzy beige head that faded to a partial covering quickly. Nice chocolaty and roasty nose with some light chalky yeast. A little nuttiness and cocoa powder. The flavor is very chocolaty with a nice slightly hoppy and slightly fruity dry finish. Maybe a little thin. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a watery texture and nice soft gentle carbonation. Overall, a pretty nice Porter, maybe a touch thin, but still good. What’s odd though is that I really didn’t get any cherry flavor at all out of this. I would have never guessed that this was a fruited Porter. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 12, 2005 On draft at Alehouse #2 Pours black with a short tan head. Aroma is smoky coffee and cherry sweetness. Flavor is mostly the same with a touch of vanilla, and some nuts mixed in as well.. Quite creamy and smooth on the palate. It amazed me how easy this brew went down. The cherry definitely doesn’t overwhelm you with this one. A very nice porter! sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 7, 2007 On tap @ the smokehouse: Dark brown to black pour with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, some chocolate and just a hint of cherries. Flavor, roasty, lots of chocolate malts, a pleasant hint of cherries, and some roasted bitterness on the finish. I really liked how the cherry was just an accent on the porter character, not the star of the show. Darkover (1316), Columbus, Ohio, USA
