Pours a hazy golden copper color with a decent sized off white head. Aroma is floral hops, caramel malt, grapefruit. Flavor is citrus, caramel malts, floral hops, alcohol. Palate is medium to full bodied, medium carbonation, nice bitter finish. Smooth and creamy, awesome stuff! The entire firkin went during the few hours I was there. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 21, 2007 From a growler at DLD: A slightly hazed coppery hue with a small but lasting foamy white head and good lace. The nose is pure hop wonderfulness with massive resiny and citric aromas, pepper and clove, and just a hint of bready malt. The taste starts bitter and never backed off, a tour de force of hop bitterness. Name your hop characteristic and it is in there! (resin, leafy, pine, clove, grass, metallic, grapefruity, pineapple, etc...). If there is any malt character on the palate it only shows with a biscuit note on the aftertaste along with a huge astringent punch. The mouth feel is aggressive and sharp, dry and powdery, slightly warming with the alcohol mostly hidden. A big beer for the hopheads! Thanks Cow-lumbus crew for the chance to taste this. jsquire (2113), St. Marys, Ohio, USA

Murky orange color with a thin off white head that quickly disapated. Sharp hop resin nose with hints of hair spray, orange juice and apricot. Thinnish mouthfeel given the size of the beer. Lots of hop tea, pine resin, apple and apricot. The alcohol is well hidden and only shows itself as a burn in the finish, which is long, bitter and dry. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA

Taste is hoppy & sweet with just enough malt to make it smooth. Good DIPA, but doesn’t match the Four Seas. bboeckl (135), Grafton, Wisconsin, USA

Great aroma, citrusy, piney, some floral. Taste was of spices, grapefruit, hops. Very bitter. A well-balanced beer. I would recommend this one. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
