Commercial Description:
Bigger than either an English or American IPA in both alcohol strength and overall hop level (bittering and finish). Less malty, lower body, less rich and a greater overall hop intensity than an American Barleywine. Not necessarily as high in gravity/alcohol as a barleywine. A showcase for hops. Warning: this ale is 10%+/- alcohol by volume and extremely bitter!

Growler at DLD. Pours hazy orange with a tan head. The aroma has caramel malt and some lightly woody hops. Fairly full bodied with sharp carbonation. It starts off with lots of chewy malts and some woody hops and ends up with lots of earthy hops. Nice IIPA.

Nice white head, nice golden color. Alcohol was not as bold as one would have thought. Had more of a sour taste than bitter

Growler at DLD. Poured a nice golden color with a thin head. Hops, hops and lots of hops in both the aroma and flavor. Alcohol hidden very well. Not much complexity, this is just a vessel to deliver a full frontal hopal assault. Would like some more comlexity, but still a quality brew.

sample from a growler at DLD. thanks to however shared this. pours murky orange. hop nose was lacking for the style some caramel notes too. flavor was more on the malt caramelly side and this was that bitter. pnw fruity hop notes. alcohol was really well hidden. to me this leans on the BW side a bit.

Thanks to hopdog for sharing this growler... Appears a hazy, light gold with a small, light tan cap of fluff that fades into a mild collar. Spots and streaks of lacing are left around the glass. Smell is yeasty, citrusy, highlights of grapefruit, pine, orange, caramel, and dusty grain. Taste is of the mentioned aromas perhaps stepped down a notch with the greatest flavor coming in the form of hoppy grapefruit and orange. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, yeasty, and bitter with some decent malt standing up in the background. It’s hard to believe this one was 11.5% abv. It went down pretty easy.

Thanks to hopdog for sharing this growler. Pours a hazy amber/orange with a medium off white bubbly head. Aroma of orange, floral, some pine and caramel. Flavor of grapefruit, pine, lots of hop flavor and bitterness. Bitterness lingers and alcohol comes forward as it warms.
