Decent mouthfeel. Well balanced hopping with a little malt. citrus and floral hops - but neither overwhelms. A bit of caramel to even it out. Perhaps not a classic strong American IPA - but a very solid beer and very drinkable. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Aroma, citrus hops, most notabely oranges, some sweet pale malts. Flavor, sweet malts up front, pale and caramel, leading to a pleasent citrusy and floral hop flavor, a nice balance to the beer. Citrusy bitterness on the finish, very well balanced and quite tasty. Dogbrick (2864), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 22, 2008 On draught at the Smokehouse. This beer pours a lightly murky golden amber color with a medium and foamy off-white head that has decent retention. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma is moderately hoppy with notes of citrus and sweet fruit. Medium-bodied and zesty with hops and citrus flavors backed by a sweet malt base. The finish is clean and alternatively fruity and hoppy. The mildly bitter hops aftertaste sticks around for awhile as well. Above average all around, although of the 2 beers so far that are thumbing their noses at the hops shortage, I liked the Hop Envy a little better. edden (927), cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 11, 2008 On firkin at the smokehouse. Pours a light, hazy orange with a small compact white head. Aroma is very fruity with subtle citrus hops. I don’t know if it was just the fruitiness of the hops confusing me but I swear I got an almost Brett character from this. I can’t be certain but I got some of that character fruitiness and horse-like qualities in the aroma and taste. Other flavors include bitterness and sweet citrusy hops. This was very drinkable and balanced, though at this point all of Barley’s IPAs are kind of becoming indistinguishable to me. Sammy (4038), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Chewy, with the orange citrus unknown additive. A almost there IPA. I think the IBU was 40-50 though and not the unoffical 0-70. Citrus colour, white white thin head and lace. An The C-hop citrus flavour was well drinkable.
