Commercial Description:
This full bodied and malty ale is made from the finest British barley malt. We carmelize the malt at the end of the mashing process and add Northdown Hops to make this a very wonderful and complex ale.

Took me a while to figure out the name of this one, as the waitress just told me Scotch Ale. Had back in May, looked alright, a bit light in color. Flavor was malty but with caramel and a nice thick finish. Decent enough, with a small amount of hops.

Thick legs on the swirl of a deep, copper/mahogany body, topped off with an ecru film. Potent aroma, a little too heady of an affront. Malted sweetness joins in to sweeten the whisky perception. Very thick & creamy. ABV is not as forceful in the flavor which finds smooth caramel maltiness with a touch of peat in the finish. Soothing to be sure.

Had at Barley’s Mini Real Ale Fest 2007! I do so love a scottish ale! YUM! Taste was sweet caramel, malts and slight alcohol. Very drinkable Scottish Ale. Not outstanding, but very good!

Pretty solid beer. Not overly complex at all but a light maltiness to it and some caramel. This was extremely drinkable and went down real fast.

On tap @ the Ale House: Pours a cloudy copper color with an off white head. Aroma, of caramel, some toffee notes, some bready notes. Flavor, some fruits, caramel, spicy hops, and some sweetness, a bit of alcohol. Good, but not really my thing.

From the cask. Not bad, but too definitely too thin which really affected everything else. The pour is a nice dark ruby red--with no head at all. The aroma is a sweet brown sugar and a hint of the alcohol. The flavors are a mix of brown sugar, tea (wort), and a slight hit of hops. The alcohol burns just slightly, but nothing that overpowers you.

Light red color with almost no head. Aroma of caramel malt. Flavor of caramel malt and tangy hops. Pretty drinkable with some hops in the finish.
