Commercial Description:
This full bodied and malty ale is made from the finest British barley malt. We carmelize the malt at the end of the mashing process and add Northdown Hops to make this a very wonderful and complex ale.

On firkin at alehouse #1 - Pours ruby red with no real head to speak of. Aromas of cherry, caramel, some brown sugar, and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is caramel, cherry, and brown sugar. Palate is medium bodied and a tad to the watery side. Alcohol is covered pretty well until the burn in the finish. Could benefit from a little more body but overall a pretty drinkable brew.

Pours light ruby with almost no head. Thin watery texture. Light maple, brown sugar taste. Mild aftertaste. Not too impressive.

On tap at Barley’s #1. Poured clear coppery orange/red with a thin-medium off-white head. Aroma was dominated by caramelized malt, very sweet and fruity. I’ve had Scotch Ales with greater complexity, but this does "more with less," with lots of brown sugar, light fruit, juniper berries, toast, and a somewhat salty aftertaste. Medium-bodied. Very nice.

Draught - Light malty and caramel aroma. Clear amber/butterscotch hue with a small off-white head. Flavor was a good balance of bitter and sweet with an average finish. Medium creamy palate.

a very spicy scotch ale. A decent color and aroma but I wasn't as impressed with the flavor as some of my friends.

A nice ruby brown ale w/ a light aroma of butterscotch. Sure enough that is the taste as well. Fantastic scotch ale. It slides down the back of your throat easily and leaves the delightful taste of sweet malt in your mouth.

Pretty good beer off the cask. Alcoholic warmth is balanced by the full body and maltiness. Low carbonation and easy to drink for a strong scotch ale.
