| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 9, 2007 Had this on tap at the Smokehouse. Fresh nose of hops spice & light resin, wheat & grass, flowers as the brew warms; and I swear some honeydew is included. Different, I like it. The brew is sparkling hazy hondy amber with melon highlights. The off-white creamy head is mostly diminishing and leaves behind a light sheet of lace. The front is balanced to bitter, the middle has a slight acidic tang. The toasty finish is floral with a respectable amount of IBU’s. The medium body is dry & soft, the finish is very astringent. Definitely my favorite american wheat to date. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2007 Poured a cloudy brownish color with a little orangish hue. Aroma was pretty hoppy with not much malt coming through. This really seemed like an IPA and not a wheat at all. Reminded me of gumballhead in that the malt and wheat profile was not all that noticable. I loved the amarillo with this though. A great beer from barleys. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Aroma, pale malts, citrus, some bready notes. Flavor, light wheats, some pale malts, citrus and herbal hops on the finish. Nice bitterness. Very nice stuff. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 10, 2008 Draft at the Smokehouse. Pours an orange color with a small white head. Aroma is substantial citrus like hops. The Barley house character that all their hoppy beers have, I don’t know how to explain it other than a fresh, sweet citrusy hop smell. Nice. Flavor is fairly hoppy, lightly bitter, smooth and even a bit watery. Pleasant, clean taste. Hops are more in the aroma than flavor. Certainly reminds one of Gumballhead, though it is different enough not to be a copy. I liked this. Tmoney99 (4777), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Poured hazy copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus earthy hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 14, 2007 On Firkin at the Smokehouse - Pours cloudy amber with a short offwhite head. Aromas of straight amarillo hops and a good dose of them too.. Much lemon and orange in the aroma. Flavor is very much a dose of citrus too. Lots of lemon and orange, but behind that I could definitely find some balance in the wheat. Just a touch of bannana there. And some grainy notes. Pleasant crisp and clean palate. An easy drinker for sure and it complimented my Walleye very well.
